A fab festival destination, is the Craft Scotland event promoting makers, on the second floor of the beautiful White Stuff Boutique on George Street, Edinburgh. I was invited a to a VIP blogger event and was simply blown away by the beauty of the pieces and the creativity and charm of the makers I met.
Pictured above are both collections by Orkney designers, chatting away to Kirsteen Stewart, we realised that we had sat next to each other and chatted over lunch in Spitalfields Market two years ago at London Design Week.
Kirsteen then led us all through the process of making a mood board, an invaluable activity if you are doing anything creative, doing up a house, any work project, I am going to make one up for the Autumn/Winter collection for the French clothes I sell, to inspire my customers.
Gilly Langton came all the way form Plockton and demonstrated the art of knitting necklaces and gave us all a beautiful pair of earrings – thank you Gilly
Niki Fulton, of Unified Space, and I chatted for hours, I had to tear myself away from her tie collection, inspired by Fennel, Scandinavia and Brittany, I could have listened to her stories of visiting Brittany as a child all evening…
Another favourite were these wonderfully simple ceramics –
Beautiful lighting by the amazing Yellowbroom
The list is endless…
A must see show for anyone looking for inspiration for their home or a very special gift for someone.
