Had a lovely evening recently at the new Martin & Frost, at Edinburgh’s Fort Kinnaird. I am fascinated by retail, so I went along to the opening with interest. I am always keen to champion good design and quality workmanship.
I was delighted to find all sorts of iconic brands in the flesh: Ercol for a start
They had a wonderful selection of this incredibly fashionable furniture.
Now double in size, the new store boasts a café and four new departments – interior design, flooring, bathroom design and a home store, featuring linens, lighting, cooking and dining, home accessories, gifts and garden furniture departments.
Apparently Martin & Frost customers have been saying that they want not just more choice when it comes to furniture but they also want to shop for their home all under one roof and be able to choose interiors, furniture and flooring all in one place.
Inspiration and guidance when making purchases are also top of their wish lists.
To fulfil their customers wish list, Martin & Frost is launching five really inspiring, home-fashion looks at the store this season:
Raspberry Ice. A calm, refreshing modern look featuring a cocktail of white and grey with splashes of raspberry pink.
Coral Reef. A cool copper chic look with smart coral tones and black and white detailing.
Gentlemen’s Club. A classic man-cave style, with tan, nickel, black and heritage hues.
Sea Treasures. Shades of blue, jade, aqua, navy and hints of metallic accents create this under the sea style.
Skimming Stones. Driftwood, rope, baskets and light linens in taupe, mushroom and chalk colours bring this look to life.
These different looks will help to inspire you to buy but with a theme in mind, you will get home and everything will work together – how great is that?
Mind you, one thing did inspire me to buy and stuff the theme – the Allure Jasper Bed – it’s purple – it’s gorgeous – I just wanted to jump into it and sleep really!
